Tomorrow our class will meet author DyAnne Disalvo in the Marsh library. The students prepared for this famous author's visit by reading City Green and imagining how we might recreate her story in Absecon. The students wrote about the fruit, vegetable, or flower that they would add to a city garden and the reason for their choice. Our Sunflower writing samples are growing in the Marsh School Lobby to welcome our visiting author tomorrow. The students will are scheduled to see her from 1:15 until 2:15. It is always an exciting time of year when my enthusiastic 2nd grade writers get to meet a success story who started out writing in elementary school just like us.
