Tomorrow second grade will enhance our science curriculum unit on plants by traveling to Johnson's Corner Farm in Medford, NJ.  The students will enjoy a hayride that includes an apple harvest and pumpkin picking.  Our current science unit study of plants has taken us on a plant life cycle journey that began only with a seed.  Now we travel to Johnson's farm to witness apples and pumpkins at the end of this cycle.  Each student will return to Absecon with 4 carefully selected apples and one proud and deserving pumpkin.

And as all the apples fall from the tree, we will continue our unit next week with further lessons on the pumpkin life cycle, culminating with an exciting pumpkin seed project. In Writer's Workshop, our personal narrative prowess will also be tested as we recount the day at Johnson's Farm and develop our paragraph production.
