Joe Holiday says Reading Rocks
If the students didn't mention Friday's Reading Rocks assembly, let them know that you heard something very interesting about one of the volunteers who Joe Holiday pulled up on stage. See if they tell you the funny story.
If not, here it is. He picked Mr. Cavileer for his teacher volunteer to highlight one of his book recommendations. I had to ball up toilet paper and keep it in my mouth for a minute or two of funny Joe Holiday dance moves. When he started to pull toilet paper out of his mouth, it went on forever. Then when I tried to do the same thing, it was just a glob of wet, crumbled tissue that did not taste good. Guess I need to work on my magic words. The audience loved it!
This was a kickoff to the PTO Bookfair which will be from Oct 19-23. We will do most of our browsing on Monday and Tuesday as a class. Individuals are welcome to go back to the Book Fair all week long. They will be open after school one night until 4pm for parent purchasing. It is usually Wednesday. I'll send a reminder this week.
