How -to Writing with our Chores

The students have been learning the steps of procedural (how-to) writing since the beginning of January.  We find it is easiest to form a how-to paragraph when we are giving instructions on an activity that we do regularly.  Our example was that Mr. Cavileer would not write a very good cheerleading how-to paragraph, because he wouldn't really know where to begin.
On Tuesday, the class chose from a list of household chores and organized a paragraph on the one they do most often.  The bar graph below shows which chores our classmates do regularly.  Some students did add more than one block to the graph.  The final drafts of our writing will be made into Vokis very shortly and placed on our Marsh News Channel 2 Writing Blog.  Great writing everyone!
