21st Century Irish Folktale

Once upon a time there was a wee little 2nd grade class in Absecon , New Jersey who was learning about simple machines.  It was early March and every lesson that the class learned had something to do with St. Patrick's Day.  One afternoon, their teachers, Mr. Cavileer and Mrs. Fey, showed them a leprechaun blueprint for a 3D printer.  They sent the blueprint to the local library and engineered two wee leprechauns out of that 3D printer.





     But one night, after the kids had all gone home, those leprechauns came to life right there in that classroom.  They played around for a few evenings before one of the teachers intercepted this message on their iPad:


That's when the students got to work.  They constructed six unique leprechaun traps to put a stop to the leprechaun plan.  Here are some pictures of those determined little engineers and here's how they work.
