Our Class Election

Some pretty incredible campaign slogans

Vote for Grace!  She'll win the Race!

Vote for Neal!  He's talking for real!

Unless You're Carsick, Vote for Marczyks!

and...

Vote for Frankie, she loves the Yankees!

They made posters and had a (2nd Grade level) debate.

Some of their platforms were...more school supplies, longer recess, choosing their teachers, more lunch time, less homework, and better playground equipment!  Just learning the process and vocabulary!  Great job everyone!

Halloween Party

Atlantic County K-9 Demonstration

For Red Ribbon Week, we were visited by five separate K-9 Units from Atlantic County.  Officer Rando explained how these incredible animals are trained to serve and protect.

ChromeBook Thursdays

We look forward to Thursdays when we can spend a little time on Raz Kids, SumDog, and Vokis.  We are learning responsible ChromeBook usage early on, so we can put these gadgets to work all year long (on Thursdays that is).

Respect Week - Diversity

Jarrett J Kroscoska WebCast

This is being passed along from our Media Specialist, Mrs. Hagar.  JJK was our visiting author last year at Marsh and the students got to meet him and learn about his journey to becoming a published author/illustrator.  Click on the picture below to see his new WebCast.

Writing Contests

This week our class wrote drafts for the following writing contests.  I will look over them this weekend and help the students edit and revise their final drafts next week.  They showed great caring and empathy in their writing pieces about helping friends for the first contest.  I thought the Atlantic City Press writing sample was a little tough to wrap your head around, but these writers still came up with some creative endings to the piece entitled, "Curious Cats."  We will easily be finished before both contest deadlines.  I'll pass on more information if I hear anything.  Great writing Cavileers!  Click both pictures for more information on each writing contest.

The Marshmallow Spaghetti Challenge

It's been a Special Month So Far...

From top to bottom, we've done some great things this month.  Below, we've got Matter Amusement Parks, Oobleck explorations, The Greater Than/Less Than Machine, and a bonus picture from Free-Time Friday when Kayla, Michael, and Olivia defied gravity and engineered a 7 foot 7 inch tower using magnetic SmartMax Blocks.  On top of that, a snowstorm AND a snow day!
